Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources

Welcome to the "Renewable and Non-Renewable Resources" exploration module. Here you can learn about renewable and non-renewable resources.

What is a pop can made of?
What is a plastic bottle made of?

All of the things we use are made up of RAW MATERIALS, also known as NATURAL RESOURCES. There are two kinds of natural resources on Earth: RENEWABLE and NON-RENEWABLE.

A RENEWABLE resource is a resource that can be replaced after it is used. Trees and cotton are RENEWABLE RESOURCES.

NON-RENEWABLE RESOURCES are the resources which can not be grown again or replaced. Oil, aluminum, steel, and gold are NON-RENEWABLE RESOURCES. Once they are gone, they are gone forever!

Below are some finished products. Can you tell what resources were used to make the products?

Use the pull down menu at the bottom of each product to select the resource it was made from.
Wool Socks
Drum Sticks
Water Glass
Newspaper
Soup Can
